Secret City
Overview:
Secret City is seeking a part-time Stage Manager to facilitate communication across all creative and technical departments for an immersive projection-mapping dinner theatre experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the Rehearsal Director, Technical Director, and Culinary Service Manager. This role will oversee sets, props, lights, and sound in addition to calling all technical cues during performances and building documentation and process for performances and backstage logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and run rehearsals.
- Record and distribute the rehearsal director’s decisions, blocking, and performer notes.
- Convey the rehearsal director’s production needs with designers and stage crew.
- Create the prompt book (a.k.a. “the bible”)—an artifact (binder) containing the production’s sound, lighting, and set cues, as well as other vital information.
- Maintain quality and integrity of the production and performance of the project.
- Supervise pre-show activities such as technical and safety checks.
- Run daily warm-ups and note sessions.
- Ensure that everyone is ready for curtain and in the wings in time for their entrances.
- Call technical cues to the crew over a wireless headset.
- Problem-solving and communications between FOH, tech and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of theatre production.
- Previous experience in stage management.
- Firm availability Mondays in September for rehearsals.
- Flexible part-time availability weekdays.
- Firm Afternoon/Evening availability Thurs-Sun (October 6-29).
