Backend Developer

We are looking for a talented Backend Developer with a passion for technology and a solid background in developing backend systems. As a key member of our development team, you will play a central role in designing, building and maintaining the server-side logic that powers our products. You will collaborate closely with a variety of other specialists: front-end developers, devops, IT operators, hardware and embedded engineers and designers to create seamless user experiences and efficient data processing systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain server-side applications and APIs for our range of small electronics products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement and test new features and enhancements for our product backend systems.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability to ensure smooth user experiences.
  • Knowledge of security best practices
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance product functionality and capabilities.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, share knowledge and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions and enhancements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience as a developer with a solid understanding of backend development principles.
  • Solid knowledge of asynchronous and multi-process programming.
  • Data structure and modeling.
  • Data flow, networking and communication protocols
  • Experience working with databases
  • Familiarity with API design and development, including RESTful services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but beneficial):
  • Experience or interest in high performance systems and using languages such as C++, Rust or similar
  • Experience or interest in embedded development, IoT or edge computing
  • Experience or interest in electronics
  • Experience or interest in audiovisual technologies such as lighting, entertainment console, dmx protocol
