The brief
We are looking for a designer with a versatile profile to join our creative team. As a designer at GSM, you will be working within multidisciplinary teams and will be called upon to design, script, illustrate and detail narrative spaces that make up visitor experiences in multiple projects of varying subject matter and scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D design concepts;
- Illustrate the look and feel of narrative spaces;
- Set up the means of communication that compose visitor experiences (media, graphic surfaces, Artefacts, soundscapes, interactivity, etc);
- Carry out material research;
- Develop and detail technical solutions for production;
- Produce communication documents for internal use and for clients.
Requirements
- College or university degree in the following disciplines: Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Game Design, Environmental or any other relevant background;
- Have an understanding – and a willingness – to work with clients and collaborators in different time zones;
- Willingly embrace a collaborative team spirit and that has an open mindset to communicating and working with all GSM Project team members.
Skills
- Hand drawing;
- Blender, Cinema 4D or equivalent;
- Sketchup or equivalent;
- Adobe suite or equivalent;
- Fusion 360, Rhino or equivalent;
- We draw from a wealth of cross-disciplinary skills and interests including sound design, video editing, game design, programming, theatre and any other relevant creative disciplines.

The Experience Designer Profile
Using state-of-the-art tools to model, illustrate, animate and set the mood for virtual immersive spaces (e.g. Blender, Substance designer and Unreal), this designer uses an iterative process of exploration that will ultimately result in the design and implementation of strong concepts.
The Architectural Designer Profile
With a strong ability to explore, iterate and communicate design concepts, this designer is passionate about trends in architecture and interior design and must love working with narrative spaces. This designer coordinates with external architects and engineers and follows up on technical development.
The Exhibition Designer Profile
The development of narrative spaces in museum environments is a speciality in itself. This designer collaborates with curators and various museum experts to stage collections and create the immersive environments at the heart of exhibitions.
The Technical Designer Profile
The search for technical solutions and knowledge of manufacturing processes are essential to make concepts reality. This designer will define the materials, assemblies and the integration of audiovisual technologies and sets in order to communicate and coordinate with manufacturers and producers.
