The Senior Visual Media Creative Producer serves as the primary driving force behind the creation of custom media content for the Disney Parks, Resorts, Ships, and beyond as a part of the Visual Media Production team, a branch of Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineering.

This is a full-time role and will report to the Visual Media Director

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the development of concepts and execution of custom media projects including motion graphics, custom video support and extensive projection mapping for Spectaculars, Special Events and other Theme Park Entertainment offerings
  • Creatively integrates video content into shows and/or events from inception through production including programming, rehearsals and performances
  • Responsible for taking a strategic approach to deliver on overall department business objectives while setting the example and the expectation of quality work life balance for the entire team.
  • Understand technical specifications required for content creation to ensure production meets those needs
  • Takes the lead and drives content delivery and creative ideation by identifying the right methods and level of technology necessary to fit within financial parameters
  • While reporting directly and being accountable to the Visual Media Director, this role has a high level of authority, ownership and discretional judgment related to creative decisions and production methods. Solely responsible for creative concept presentations and pitches to all levels of the organization and external partners and clients
  • Directs a large team of Cast Members including VFX Designers, 3D digital modelers, animators and other skilled technical personnel through creative development and post production completion
  • Serve as Video Director for shoots, inclusive of location scouting, casting, choosing production gear, directing camera shots, mentoring/directing talent, partnering with costuming, cosmetology, music production, etc. for both union and non-union talent
  • Ability to call live, multi-camera shoots for multiple purposes including but not limited to live streaming and live special events
  • Supervises the post-production of a shoot by working directly with the editor, sound designers, composers, etc. to complete the finished piece
  • Attend all production meetings, project reviews, design reviews, etc. as needed, having up-to-date content progress available to share as needed
  • Collaborate with other creative leaders such as lighting, music, lasers, fireworks, and technical video systems as needed
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Producer to establish and keep project milestones and appropriate staffing across the production timeline as needed
  • Oversee the completion of creative deliverables and develop a work plan to manage risk on projects
  • Collaborates cross functionally amongst partners within DLE, WDI, WDW Park Operations, Key Vendors, Executive Leadership, etc.
  • Work with the Systems Team and PM to ensure files/media etc. get distributed, transported securely, backed up, etc. following accurate security protocols
  • Supervise final delivery of content

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in broadcast production, media development, VFX design, directing or editing
  • Experience with broadcast/media production including camera work, projection, VFX development, editing/post production
  • Outstanding communication, ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently, and ability to manage large-scale projects and teams keeping them on task and on time, a must
  • Must have an understanding of visual storytelling and familiarity with Disney IPs and the Disney brand
  • Basic understanding of creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Cinema 4D, etc
  • Available and willing to work weekends, holidays, and third shift, as needed
  • Willingness to travel on various domestic and international assignments as needed, including extensively for Disney Cruise Line

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, theater, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
