Charisma Event Productions is a boutique audio visual events company with a warehouse in American Fork. We serve the corporate event industry providing full A/V for business conferences, summits, and meetings. We provide our clients with screens, microphones, lighting, stages, backdrops, cameras, and talented technicians to run it all. We are looking to hire a full-time video engineer who is also well rounded as a general A/V tech. As our Video Engineer (V1), you’ll be responsible for ensuring flawless video production across a variety of events. There is a lot of potential for both career and personal growth with the fast rate at which the company is growing. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Note: If you are a videographer, photographer, or video editor this is not the role for you. This often gets confused with the production term of “Video Engineer”.
Video Engineer Responsibilities:
Producing spectacular events is the core of our business. Your talent, attention to detail, and ability to learn new skills will be vital in helping us produce spectacular events.
- Be the lead video technician for all of our events
- Set up, operate, and maintain video equipment for live events, including video switchers, cameras, projectors, LED walls, and related systems
- Manage live video switching and camera operations during events
- Create and manage graphics, lower thirds, and other on-screen content
- Work every Charisma event including set up, the event, and strike
- Set up and lead small gigs by yourself
- Fill the role of technical director on certain shows
- Lead our crew of freelancers in an organized and respectful manner
- Collaborate with clients and event planners to understand and meet their video requirements
- Have fun on our shows so everyone enjoys working with our team!
- Drive our company vehicles
- Firm understanding of all areas of A/V with ability to assist with lighting, audio, & rigging
Video Engineer Skills:
This experienced Video Engineer V1 should be able to do the following with ease and precision.
- Familiarity with industry-standard video equipment and software
- Ability to program and operate Blackmagic Design video switchers (Constellation, ATEM Extreme, Advanced Control Panel, etc.)
- Strong understanding of video signal flow, formats, and resolutions
- Familiarity with video playback and graphics systems (e.g., Playback Pro, ProPresenter)
- Knowledge of video streaming software and hardware (Liveu, Vmix, encoding, Boxcast, etc.)
- Experience with projection mapping (Resolume or similar) and LED wall setup and operation
- Extensive experience setting up projector screens, projectors, confidence monitors, etc.
Warehouse Responsibilities:
During times with now shows we will utilize your expertise in our warehouse. An organized and self-motivated individual is needed for this aspect of the role.
- Prepare cameras, switchers, and all other video equipment
- Equipment checks, maintenance, and repair
- Coordinate and lead loading and unloading of equipment at the warehouse
- Keep warehouse organized

Day to Day Expectations:
- Work average of 40-50 hours a week depending on our event schedule
- Ability to work long and tiring hours
- Flexible working hours
- Regularly commute in your own vehicle to the warehouse in American Fork
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 90 lbs
- Travel outside the state for events (Currently 95% of our events are in Utah)

People that tend to be a good fit for this role have a wealth of experience in live event audio visual working at a theater or concert hall, as a freelancer, or as a full time technician, producer, or technical director for companies like WEBB, Cornerstone, P3, FatFish, Modern Display, etc.
