Casa Loma
Position Summary:
Casa Loma is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Audio-Visual Technician to support our Summer Series performances and ongoing event operations. Working closely with the Technical Director, the AV Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating audio, video, LED walls, and staging equipment, ensuring smooth execution of all live performances and special events at our iconic venue. Flexible availability is essential, with shifts scheduled according to the event and performance calendar, including evenings and weekends.
Rate: $25-$45/hr based on technical skill level and experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate audio, video and lighting systems, LED walls, and staging for summer concerts and live events
- Assist with video playback and projection; experience with Resolume is an asset
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and professionally during live shows
- Collaborate with performers, production teams, and Casa Loma staff to ensure each show runs smoothly
- Maintain and organize AV equipment, report maintenance needs or malfunctions
- Adapt to last-minute changes with a calm, solutions-oriented approach
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in live audio/visual production. Audio Engineering and Theatre Technical Production school graduates/students are welcome to a great opportunity to gain experience.
· Professional appearance and demeanor in dealing with clients and venue management
· Ability to lift 50lbs
- Proficiency with Behringer Wing/X32 is an asset
- Familiarity with LED wall setup, projection, and video playback
- Experience with Resolume or similar VJ/video mapping software is a strong asset
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by production schedules.
