Job Summary
At Unfinished Makerspace, we create an environment where learning and creativity thrive. Our mission is to train the next generation of makers by teaching students to think independently, solve problems, and explore their passions.
We use a wide variety of tools, from LEGO and VEX robotics systems to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, 3D printing, and 3D modeling. We tailor our approach to each student’s strengths, welcoming learners from diverse backgrounds and supporting kids from 1st grade and up.
We are looking for energetic and passionate educators who want to make a real impact on the next generation of makers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging STEAM projects using our available tools.
- Identify and suggest new teaching tools or methods.
- Teach individual and group classes, maintaining high student engagement.
- Coach VEX competition teams and support student participation in events.
Skills
- A genuine love for teaching and working with children.
- Experience or interest in a variety of STEAM fields, including coding, math, art, music, and electronics.
- Ability to manage classroom activities efficiently while keeping students engaged.
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting; tutoring or adult education experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Scratch; familiarity with electronic circuitry and robotics platforms (Arduino, LEGO Mindstorms, VEX) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills for planning lessons, managing supplies, and tracking student progress.
