Alternative Learning CIC
We are a newly created Community Interest Company looking for mentors with a keen interest in creative technology – this could include Minecraft and other gaming, coding, games design, AI, digital art, video production or stop motion, for example – to help lead daytime sessions for small groups of home educated children in Tiverton. [We are also interested in other educational capabilities, not just creative tech – so feel free to send a speculative CV if you’re an educator with similar experience].
At this stage we may be able to work around a mentor’s skillset and availability. Most important is that you have a strong interest and some skills in creative tech. And, that you enjoy sharing your knowledge with children.
Most of the children attending our groups are neurodivergent. We want mentors who are calm, patient, and emotionally aware.
An Enhanced DBS will be required, and there will be mandatory safeguarding training.
We offer competitive hourly rates of pay depending on what you can bring to the groups in terms of experience – very happy to discuss in our first communication.
We have minimal hours initially but intending for this to grow.
If you’re curious, send me an initial email telling me a bit about yourself – what skills/interest/knowledge you have of any creative technology, previous/current work experience that is relevant, current situation (employed/studying/unemployed) and your availability. I’ll then reply with next steps.
