Experience Designer (full-time, multiple openings) needed in New York, NY to scope, concept, develop, and implement physical experiences that manifest in the built environment and bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds. An understanding of human factors, UX flow diagrams, interaction design & the ability to craft experiences that go “beyond the screen” is crucial for this role. Leverage a variety of platforms and technologies to identify and define user experiences, design and deliver solutions for opportunities within the user journey, demonstrate proof of concepts, simulate experiences within virtual environments, test the usability of interaction, and produce digital content and 3D actionable assets for temporary or permanent installations. Serve as a hands-on technology expert, shaping the concept and seeing it through to detailed design and implementation across interactive prototypes within DXD and product partners.
Must have a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Design and Technology, Graphic Design or related field, plus one (1) year of design experience with the following:
(1) Evolving visual concepts from sketches to viable, documented design solutions using the following tools: Cinema 4D, Rhino, Grasshopper, Unity, Unreal, Revit, N-Scape, Touch Designer, After Effects, Adobe Mixamo;
(2) Prototype interactive environments with front-end development software utilizing the following programming tools and languages: Openframeworks, Processing, WebGL, C++, Unity, TouchDesigner;
(3) Conduct user testing and heuristic analysis of digital products, built with the following tools: Invision, Figma, Sketch, Framer, Webflow, UXPin;
(4) Ideate and visualize concepts using three-dimensional, time-based forms of representation including diagrams, drawings, animated visualizations;
(5) Mock-up and prototype physical designs and visual experiences using a range of tools including Augmented, Virtual Mixed Reality Applications, projection mapping;
(6) Design for projects that interface between physical and digital, including interactive technology, sensor and tracking systems, physical computing, robotics;
(7) Use of parametric, generative and procedural 3D modeling techniques;
(8) Custom coding, machine-learning, and incorporating AI generative tools such as Midjourney, RunwayML as part of design process in spatial and experiential design; AND
(9) Lead overall conceptual design, development, and implementation of physical-digital applications using existing and emerging technologies to create and prototype interactive environments.
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Design and Technology, Graphic Design or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience. One (1) year of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience must include experience with the following:
(1) Evolving visual concepts from sketches to viable, documented design solutions using the following tools: Cinema 4D, Rhino, Grasshopper, Unity, Unreal, Revit, N-Scape, Touch Designer, After Effects, Adobe Mixamo;
