The Fine Arts Department at KPU offers certificate, diploma, and Bachelor programs with a strong curriculum focusing on the ideas and techniques of producing contemporary art within a diverse and supportive liberal arts environment. This dynamic program focuses on the integration of studio work with theory and research. Our graduates are prepared with the necessary skills to pursue advanced Fine Arts studies, enter related fields, or pursue a contemporary professional practice.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Department of Fine Arts at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for individuals interested in being added to the Qualified Faculty List for Non-Regular Type 1 (Semester Contract) Instructor in Digital Media. This position is subject to budgetary availability. The applicant should be able to teach the following courses:
- FINA 1135 – Introduction to Digital Media I
- FINA 2135 – Digital Media: Design in Contemporary Art
- FINA 2235 – Digital Media: Interactive Art on the Web
- FINA 2335 – Digital Media: Video and Installation
- FINA 3135 – Advanced Digital Media: Open Studio 1
The ability to teach introductory to advanced Digital Media courses will be considered an asset. Courses may be scheduled in three terms during the contract year, at the Surrey campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have an MFA with a concentration in Digital Media, a current exhibition record, and experience in post-secondary teaching. Applicants will have the interest and ability to teach foundation and advanced courses at the undergraduate level. They will also have technical knowledge of digital media processes, production equipment including studio lighting, and safety knowledge of materials.

SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
