Live Event Video Engineer

Job description

Orange County-based live events production company is currently seeking an experienced Video Engineer to join our team. The Video Engineers work closely with the project management team, audio and lighting technicians, and our scenic team. Qualified candidates should be detail-oriented, have a strong technical background, and have the ability to think outside the box or approach problems from a unique perspective.

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute live video switching, camera operation, and signal routing to support live event production and streaming workflows
  • Build, configure, and operate LED video wall systems, including processing, mapping, and calibration
  • Develop and implement projection display systems and video display designs based on event requirements
  • Run and manage playback media content in coordination with live video switching to support show execution
  • Lead and assist with event installations and strikes, including hands-on work with technical systems, scenic elements, and show execution
  • Assemble and support rigging/truss structures, lighting systems, power distribution, and network infrastructure
  • Perform equipment setup, including wiring, cabling, and system connections to ensure optimal video performance
  • Troubleshoot AV systems and components, including hardware, software, and integrated signal paths
  • Conduct visual and system quality checks to ensure proper functionality and performance before and during events
  • Operate cameras and related equipment to capture live footage according to production needs
  • Program and configure LED processors and playback systems to align with creative and technical specifications
  • Follow direction from project managers, leads, and senior technicians to ensure alignment with show objectives
  • Collaborate with internal teams across departments to support cohesive event execution
  • Maintain organization and care of video equipment and infrastructure throughout all phases of production
  • Safely lift and handle scenic and technical equipment (50+ lbs.) as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
