About the Role
The Show Systems Programmer builds the software systems that power Memoir’s immersive experiences.
Working within system architectures defined by the Show Systems Designer, this role is responsible for programming, testing, and deploying real-time media, show control, and interactive systems that drive dynamic live environments.
This is a hands-on, production-focused role where the majority of time is spent actively developing and refining software—ensuring systems are stable, scalable, and ready for real-world conditions.

What You’ll Do
1. Software Development & Programming
Develop and implement show logic across real-time media, show control, and interactive systems
Build custom interactive installations using tools like TouchDesigner and similar platforms
Program dynamic behaviors for lighting, audio, visuals, and integrated show elements
Collaborate with the Show Systems Designer to align programming with system architecture and creative intent
Iterate quickly based on feedback from creative, production, and operations teams
2. Testing & System Validation
Conduct in-house testing, simulation, and proof-of-concept development prior to deployment
Validate system performance, stability, and readiness for live environments
Support quality control processes to ensure systems meet production standards
3. Deployment & Commissioning
Support on-site system integration, programming adjustments, and final commissioning
Troubleshoot and refine systems in live production environments under run-of-show conditions
Ensure programming performs reliably during installs, previews, and live operations
4. Documentation & System Lifecycle
Maintain clean and organized project structures, including version control and configuration documentation
Produce clear handoff materials for run-of-show and site teams
Support ongoing system improvements and lifecycle maintenance across projects
What Success Looks Like
Systems run reliably in live environments with minimal troubleshooting required
Programming is clean, scalable, and easy for teams to maintain
Installs and commissioning periods are efficient and well-supported
Documentation enables smooth handoff to operations teams
Creative intent is successfully translated into dynamic, responsive technical systems
Qualifications
Required
3–8+ years of experience in show programming, interactive systems, or creative technology
Strong hands-on experience with real-time media, show control, or interactive programming environments
Experience with tools such as TouchDesigner, Ableton, MadMapper, or similar platforms
Working knowledge of control protocols (OSC, MIDI, DMX, Art-Net, sACN, timecode)
Ability to build, deploy, and maintain production-ready systems
Strong troubleshooting skills in fast-paced environments
Preferred
Experience supporting on-site commissioning and live production environments
Familiarity with hybrid hardware/software systems and interactive installations
Ability to contribute to system design discussions alongside technical leadership
Interest in immersive experiences and experiential storytelling
Work Environment & Schedule
Full-time role with flexibility based on production schedules
Travel required (approximately 35% depending on projects)
Evening, weekend, and on-site work required during install and live operations
Work environments include office, warehouse, and active production sites
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $55,000 – $70,000
Bonus eligibility based on performance
