Mid-Level Unreal Developer

As a Mid-level developer at Steamroller, you will work on various projects, from console games and AR/VR to interactive installations and attractions; we promise you will never get bored! Responsibilities vary based on the project, and we strive to place you on projects that play to your strengths while also giving you room to grow as a Developer.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement new features or systems
  • Assist in the creation of technical design documents for new systems
  • Review game design documents and provide feedback
  • Implement low-level subsystems for new platforms
  • Ensure adherence to platform compliance requirements
  • Debug and test implementations to ensure the software functions properly
  • Resolve trouble tickets and document actions and resolutions for reference
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to maintain a high level of stability.
  • Communicate with other department personnel to gather project requirements and verify product satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of C++ and good knowledge of C# or Python
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Able to adapt to new codebases and platforms
  • The ability to communicate clearly, work well in a team environment, and work efficiently in a time-sensitive situation.
  • Desire to learn and grow.
  • Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, or the equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a developer in the Game, Film, VR/AR Industries.
  • 3+ years of experience using game engines such as Unreal and/or Unity.

Physical Requirements:

  • Handling/grasping documents or office equipment.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Clear speaking and adequate hearing, sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in person and/or on the telephone.
  • Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data.
  • Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
  • Work is to be performed primarily in an office/home-office environment using standard office equipment.
  • While not guaranteed, some day-to-day activities may involve bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below the shoulder, and/or lifting/carrying/moving work-related equipment.
