Role Description
ELLEPHANT is seeking a Multimedia Technician to support the gallery’s technical and digital needs. This role includes managing the website, creating video content, assisting with media-based art installations, installing artworks, and documenting exhibitions. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy and passionate about contemporary art.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and update the gallery’s website (new site in production; launch Nov 2025)
• Create and edit video content for promotional materials and social media
• Install artworks (e.g., projection mapping, video setups, installations, screens)
• Document exhibitions and events (photo/video)
• Provide occasional in-gallery support and supervision

Candidate Profile

• Education and/or experience in multimedia technologies
• Familiarity with projection mapping, lighting, and sound systems
• Ability to set up, test, and troubleshoot audiovisual/multimedia equipment
• Willingness to learn new software and tools as needed
• Proficiency with website management (e.g., CMS platforms)
• Strong understanding of social media and digital engagement
• Strong interest in contemporary art and visual culture
• Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic gallery environment
• Comfortable working independently and within a small team

Assets

• Bilingual (French and English); other languages
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to lift and handle heavy objects (e.g., artworks, equipment)

Conditions / Benefits

• Hybrid work model: remote, with on-call availability during gallery hours and events
• In-person presence required for events and technical installations
• 5 to 20 hours per week
• Salary based on experience
