New Media Artist

Reload is an innovative Family Entertainment Center (FEC) in Strathroy, known for creating immersive and interactive experiences. We’re looking for a passionate New Media Artist with the heart of a true artist to join our team. If you’re someone who can balance the creative with the practical—quickly generating social media content while bringing immersive exhibits to life—this job is for you.

Position Overview:

This casual, part-time role has two key responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Generate high-quality and engaging social media posts, flyers, and signs using tools like Canva. The ability to work quickly and creatively is essential.
• New Media Artistry: Collaborate with us to create immersive exhibits, films, and experiences using projection mapping, video, and audio. While experience with our tools (e.g., Isadora) is not required, a solid understanding of audio/video formats, codecs, and video editing is important.

We’re looking for someone with an art school background who has a keen eye for color, sharpness, resolution, and image formats. You don’t need to be an expert with any particular software, but proficiency in tools like DaVinci Resolve or similar programs is a plus. Most importantly, we want someone with the soul of an artist, a passion for storytelling, and an eagerness to learn and experiment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and post compelling social media content, flyers, signs, and advertisements.
• Utilize Canva (or similar tools) to generate visually appealing, brand-consistent designs quickly.
• Collaborate on the development of immersive media installations and exhibits, integrating video, audio, and projection mapping.
• Edit videos with a creative touch and attention to detail.
• Adjust and format images and videos for various applications, ensuring proper resolution, sharpness, and color.
• Work with various media formats, codecs, and digital tools to create innovative content.

Requirements:

• A background in art or media, ideally from art school.
• Proficiency in Canva (or similar tools) and the ability to produce high-quality content quickly.
• Experience with video editing software
• An understanding of audio/video formats, codecs, and basic media processing.
• A strong eye for image sharpness, color, and resolution.
• Passion for storytelling, creativity, and innovation.
• Eagerness to learn new tools and experiment with cutting-edge immersive media.
