Immersive Studio Technologist / Projection & Lighting Designer

Prana Lab

Objective

Develop and implement a cost-efficient, scalable prototype of the immersive studio environment (≈ 10 × 15 m), achieving strong emotional and sensory impact with limited hardware and smart software integration.

Responsibilities

Concept Translation & Experience Design

Translate creative and emotional vision into a coherent technical and experiential plan.
Co-Define the sensory flow of the immersive space — combining light, projection, and sound in alignment with the brand narrative.
2. Technical Architecture & System Design

Develop the complete setup plan for both hardware and software, including projection, lighting, spatial audio, control, and interactivity.
Specify and source fit-for-purpose, budget-efficient equipment, ensuring performance, scalability, and ease of replication.
Design a scalable control and automation system that unifies projection, lighting, and audio across multiple future locations.
3. Software & Real-Time Environment

Set up and configure real-time 3D and media systems (e.g., TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, Resolume) to drive dynamic, generative, or interactive visuals.
Establish the data and control logic enabling interactivity (e.g., breath, movement, or sound cues).
4. Creative Collaboration & Integration

Collaborate with immersive visual and sound artists to co-create initial visuals, soundscapes, and atmospheres for the prototype.
Support integration of visual storytelling, sound design, and lighting moods into the final experience.
5. Implementation & Delivery

Coordinate with local AV suppliers and installers for setup, calibration, and testing.
Oversee the creation of projection layouts, lighting designs, and control logic ensuring aesthetic and technical consistency.
Deliver a fully functional MVP environment that is reliable, replicable, and ready for audience testing.

Requirements

Proven experience in immersive installations, projection mapping, experiential design, or audiovisual direction.
Strong knowledge of projection mapping, lighting control, and immersive media systems.
Experience with TouchDesigner, Resolume Arena, MadMapper, Unreal Engine, or similar tools.
Understanding of spatial sound systems (e.g., Q-Sys, L-ISA, or Ableton-based setups).
Ability to simplify complex AV setups for low-budget, high-impact installations.
Portfolio of immersive environments, art installations, or experiential spaces.
Established network of visual, motion, and sound artists open to collaboration.
Passion for well-being, consciousness, and the fusion of art, design, and technology.
Dubai-based or able to coordinate remotely with availability for limited on-site work if required.

Next Step / Proposal Request

Before moving forward, we’d love to receive a short initial proposal outlining your vision for how you would approach this project. This can include:

A brief description of your technical and creative approach to building an immersive yoga or wellness environment.
Example tools, workflows, or systems you would recommend (projection, lighting, audio, interactivity).
2–3 reference visuals or mood examples that reflect the kind of sensory atmosphere you would create.
• • A rough outline of timeline and estimated cost range.
