Working with Enchant, the Programmer holds an important role in implementing video content and effects to project onto custom built, addressable LED assets. As the Programmer, you will work closely with the Electrical Lead, Lighting Techs, and Stagehands to ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance of all assets, and promote safety and success in the field.

COMMITMENT: Dates may change based on location

  • Venue Advance: Oct 01-Oct.31, 2022 (8hrs per day / mon-fri)
  • Install: Nov 01-26, 2022 (10-12 hrs per days / 7am – 7pm / 6 days per week)
  • Show: Nov 26-Jan 1, 2023, (8-10 hrs per days / 3pm – midnight / 5 days per week)
  • Strike: Jan 02-15, 2023 (10-12 hr days / 7am – 7pm / 6 days per week)

May include some travel for training purposes

WHO WE ARE:  

We are creators of a magical event called Enchant Christmas. We have hosted over three million guests over the past 5 years and have experienced significant growth. While Christmas is a big part of what we do, it is only the beginning of where we intend to go.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: 

Programmer will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Validate Pixel Maps/Patch Lists to guarantee accurate display of video content.
  • Program all lighting/video cues into various software platforms as needed.
  • Ensure accurate output of video content to LED installations where applicable.
  • Network various devices for communication between LED pixel drivers and show control software.
  • Interface with Install crews to verify proper setup of all programmable lighting hardware.
  • Interface with Lighting Lead regarding low voltage DC installations.
  • Maintain a record of all potential hardware or software issues to be brought to the Lighting Lead as needed.
  • Record and report any damage to person or property during the operation.
  • Provide daily reports to the Enchant Leadership following the established methods.
  • Ensure the team is practicing safe work procedures as outlined by the Enchant Health & Safety Guidelines.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

As a Programmer, you will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

  • DMX Universe & Address Patching
  • DMX over Art-Net & sACN Data Protocols
  • IP Addressing & Subnet Masking
  • Pixel Mapping & Lighting Control Software i.e. Madrix, MadMapper, ELM
  • Media Server & Playback Software i.e. MediaMaster, Resolume, Green Hippo
  • Local & Remote Network Monitoring
  • Network Troubleshooting
  • Video Input/Output Resolutions and their relation to Pixel Pitch/Density

ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Low Voltage DC Wiring as it pertains to LEDs
  • Knowledge of LEDs and their ICs, particularly UCS1903
  • Familiarity with Dry Contact Closures
  • Familiarity with Standalone(“Architectural”) Lighting Controllers i.e. Cueserver, Pharos

  • OSHA 10 training
