YOUR MISSION

As a Technical Assistant at Moment Factory, you will work closely with the content production team, which includes Motion/3D artists, production coordinators, and various technical teams. You will interact with other departments to develop, structure, and optimize technical data related to content production, while working simultaneously with multiple teams to produce incredible projects. This is an exciting and challenging position with continuous learning opportunities in a fast-paced visual effects and multimedia environment.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Content Data Operations team:
Assist the Content Data Operations Specialist in responding to requests from the production coordinators regarding storage systems (performance, space, permissions, synchronization) ;
Use or develop data management tools and remove superfluous data;
Propose solutions to the IT team to ensure that artists synchronize data between their desktop computers and primary and mobile storage systems;
Assist in monitoring data synchronization between primary and mobile storage systems during on-site installations with IT system administrators;
Assist in the management of file sharing portals (MediaShuttle);
Assist with project archiving procedures under the supervision of the Lead Multimedia Archivist.
Assist in monitoring data flows to and from cloud rendering solutions in tandem with the Content Technical Directors.

Support the Content technical leadership team:
Provide technical support and solutions to the production team;
Assist in the management of material received by the artists, identify rendering problems and propose solutions;
Assist in the prioritization of renderings in collaboration with the production team and other content technical directors;
Provide estimated render times to the producers and content team;
Convert video into the required formats according to the technology chosen for multimedia delivery.

Support the Pipeline technical management team:
Assist in the creation of production software, tools, and solutions related to the various disciplines involved in making a pipeline of visual effects projects for multimedia installations;
Write documentation on the tools and codes developed;
Write the PYTHON / MEL scripts required for the various departmental tools.
Assist in supporting and maintaining the content team’s daily ticket management;
Attend TD pipeline team meetings and data operations meetings to assist with weekly prioritization;
Perform any other related tasks in connection with the Content team’s technical support.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

College diploma in multimedia integration, post-production, or other related field;
Minimum of 2 years experience in the visual effects industry;
Good knowledge of After Effects and Cinema 4D, an asset;
General knowledge of Maya, Nuke, an asset;
Knowledge of Javascript/Python and MEL programming languages, an asset;
Desire to develop knowledge and progress in visual effects and multimedia;
Functional professional mastery of French and English, both oral and written.
