About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Technical Specialist on the Immersive Media Technical Team, as we start to deliver a new ambition in emerging and immersive technologies across The School of Art & Design. NTU has recently made large investments in our new Design and Digital Art’s Building, including a Virtual Production Studio, Future Technology Suites and a Performance Capture Studio, which you will have a role in developing and shaping.

The Immersive Media Team also supports and delivers across the school in our Fashion, Textiles and Knitwear Design and our Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication Departments, delivering a range of new technologies currently being embraced by the Fashion Industry.

This is a great time to join a skilled team of practitioners who support a dynamic and exciting curriculum across Art & Design. You will take an active role in shaping and further enhancing the technical facilities and will work in partnership with the Technical Team Leaders, to deliver the strategic aims and ambitions of the departments and school.

You will contribute to a range of support and delivery in 3D & Immersive Technologies and will be able to offer the required knowledge and attributes as detailed in the attached person specification in one or more of the following areas:

  • 3D Software & Real-Time Game Engines.
  • 3D Volumetrics, Photogrammetry & 3D Scanning.
  • Projection Mapping and XR Live Events and Installations.
  • Performance & Motion Capture.
  • Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality

You will have an excellent understanding of technical practice, as well as knowledge of current trends and professional practice driving the exciting area of Immersive Technology.
