Responsibilities:
Technical Setup and Maintenance:
Install, set up, and calibrate immersive technologies, including projection systems, interactive displays, system servers, virtual reality (VR) headsets, augmented reality (AR) devices, and sensory elements.
Ensure all technical components are in optimal working condition before the start of each exhibit or event.
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues during the exhibition to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth visitor experience.
Immersive Technology Operation:
Assist Guest Experience team members in understanding and using immersive technologies, providing guidance and support to ensure they have a positive understanding of the systems and usage.
Monitor the performance of immersive hardware and software during exhibit hours, promptly addressing any technical glitches or malfunctions that may arise.
Collaboration with Creative Teams:
Collaborate with artists, designers, and technical managers to understand the artistic vision and technical requirements for each immersive art installation.
Provide technical insights and recommendations to ensure the feasibility and successful integration of immersive technologies with the artistic concept.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
Conduct rigorous testing of all technical components to ensure they function as intended and align with the immersive art experience’s vision.
Participate in user testing sessions to gather feedback and make improvements to the technical elements based on user insights.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical setups, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Create user guides and training materials for immersive technology operation for both staff and visitors.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all immersive art experiences meet health and safety regulations and adhere to industry best practices.
Implement safety measures and procedures related to the operation of immersive technology.
Continuous Learning and Innovation:
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in immersive technologies and industry trends.
Propose innovative ideas and improvements to enhance the immersive art experience and technical operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Media Technology, Interactive Design, or a related field.
Proven experience in operating and troubleshooting immersive technologies, such as interactive systems, projection mapping, VR, AR and related hardware and software.
Strong technical knowledge of multimedia technology, computer graphics, and audio-visual systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and quickly resolve technical issues.
Familiarity with Touchdesigner programming environment;
Familiarity with programming languages and software commonly used in immersive experiences (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Notch).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive experiences for visitors.
Flexibility to work irregular hours during exhibit installations and events.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
