TouchDesigner Operator

Freelance

Freelance – short term project

London

We’re looking for a freelance TouchDesigner operator to support the development and live operation of an immersive, biometric-responsive installation.

The work

The Regulation Room is an adaptive sensory environment that responds to physiological data — heart rate and galvanic skin response — to drive real-time changes in spatial light and audio. You’ll be working with existing hardware and patch architecture to refine, stabilise, and operate the system across installation and live contexts.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Developing and troubleshooting TouchDesigner patches (CHOP and TOP networks, OSC/serial data input, audio-reactive output)
  • Integrating biometric sensor data (HR, GSR) to drive real-time visual and audio parameters
  • Coordinating with sound design and spatial audio elements within the same environment
  • Supporting installation setup, testing, and live operation at venue

What we need

  • Solid, demonstrable TouchDesigner experience — show us work, not just a CV
  • Comfortable with data-driven interactivity and sensor integration
  • Calm under pressure during live installation contexts
  • Based in London or able to commit to in-person sessions when required

Nice to have

  • Experience with biometric or biosignal data
  • Familiarity with DMX lighting control
  • Interest in health, neuroscience, or sensory design (context matters here)

What this is

A paid freelance engagement to begin immediately, with potential for ongoing collaboration as the project develops commercially.
