The Immersive Media Design Program at the University of Maryland is looking for an Immersive Media Specialist to develop and support laboratory facilities for this new undergraduate educational program. The program is a collaboration between the departments of Art, and Computer Science, and is focused on educating students for leadership in emerging forms of immersive, digital media that include virtual reality, augmented and mixed reality, projective mapping, interactive performance technology, interactive installations, and more. The successful candidate will be in from the start as we develop facilities for the new program, and will have a significant in shaping the laboratories. These will include labs for production and experience of digital assets such as VR/AR/XR, large scale projections, mocap, 360 sound and video, volumetric video, 3D scanning, and more, as well as labs for physical Makerspace activities.
